Welcome to Kate's Paintings     Today is August  8 2009.  Over the next several months this site will be under construction.  For the past 5 years I have not been very active due to huge changes in my life.  This is now changing.  For the present I invite you to view work that I have already left on this site and I hope you enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed doing it.  New work will be seen here within a few months, perhaps sooner.    It’s wonderful to be back.  I have missed you all!   "What's New" section.

Spirit of the Arts

I watched her as she created her masterpiece.
The shadow behind her was felt; but not seen.
Her soul touched with each additional colour.
Written words flowed from her loving heart.
I stood there and admired her from a distance.
She wondered where the inspiration came from.

With pride I watched my great-granddaughter.
The family had never told her about my skills.
I am the hidden secret shame; the lazy one.
She looks in my direction sensing that I am here.
Feeling the love of the arts that I share with her.
I am the Spirit of the Arts; whom she calls muse.
