The History or Story Behind My Site

Hi I'm Kate Clifford and I have been an artist since I was a small child.  First I have to thank the people that have made it possible for me to be in the space at this moment.

Energy:  Call it what you will from what ever belief system you work with but to this energy I will aways be grateful for the gift that has been given to me to create images.

Kim Berthette an artist that was one of the Grande Cache Palette Pals President.  She is the one who took away my excuses for not picking up a brush and painting.  Without her this story would not have taken place.

Esson Gale and Jean Fox both encouraged me with my artwork and introduced me to outdoor painting which to this day I enjoy doing.

Jack Ellis and Robert Guest, both artist but also instructors of art.  Both are known in their own rights and humble to this day.  They both inspired me to reach for the impossible.

Trish McQueen and Krash, Both artists but also very experience in the technical world.  Without them I would have been clueless to how to work with digital cameras and working with templates.  Each one of them have been in my lifetime at times I needed encouragement  and fortuntely patience when I would be taught the tech stuff that seems to be another language to me.   In the near future I will have links to both of thier sites.

I have art work in Japan, England, United States and Canada.  My written work as an artist teaching my masking illustrations was published in the Watercolour Gazette Sept/Oct 2002.  I have won awards for my work in Alberta and Ohio.

Okay now lets get to why I do it :-)   I do it because I have no other choice.  I see, therefore, I paint.  It does not matter what I am doing in a day, at some point something will catch my attention and I have to put it to paper, canvas or cloth.  I love experimenting with all mediiums but Acrylic and Watercolour tend to be my favorites.  When the brush is in my hand I am no longer on this planet.  I enter a world in which the paint and I become whatever image is playing in my mind.  I often have a theme in mind just to find it changing as I take each step in the painting.

I hope that while you are here for a brief moment  you can enter the world I live in and enjoy it as much as I do
